Dr. Chris Blume

Dr. Blume was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He grew up in the “suburb” of Jersey Village, northwest of Houston. Following high school, he attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas. After graduating with a B.A. with a major in Biology and minor in Mathematics, Dr. Blume was accepted to The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, ranked as the #1 dental school by U.S. News and World Report. Living close to the Hill Country during his four years in San Antonio, Dr. Blume acquired a taste for hiking, exercising and exploration. After graduating from dental school magna cum laude, Dr. Blume returned home to start his career in dentistry. Practicing since 1998 has given Dr. Blume the opportunity to hone his skills and deliver patient-focused care. He has concentrated on making his patients feel and look good.

Dr. Blume met his wife, Carrie, playing softball at the Post Oak YMCA, and they were married in 2005 in New Orleans. On the day of their wedding, Dr. Blume and his wife-to-be ran the Crescent City Classic 10K with 12 of their closest friends and family members. Dr. Blume and his wife are now proud parents to a daughter born in 2008 and a son born in 2010. They are active members of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Cypress, where Dr. Blume and his wife serve on the Missions Committee.

Dr. Cheryl Lewis

A native Houstonian, Dr. Lewis attended high school at Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart. Dr. Lewis then pursued her undergraduate degree at Southwestern University in Georgetown, graduating cum laude with a B.S. in Biology. After graduation, she attended The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio Dental School. While in dental school, Dr. Lewis was the recipient of numerous accolades, including the prestigious Pierre Fauchard Award. Following graduation, Dr. Lewis joined Dr. Chris Blume’s Active Life Dentistry practice in Cypress.

Always active, her hobbies include spending time with her family and friends, including her husband who is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident at the UT Houston Medical Branch, training her British Labrador Abbi, cooking, and practicing yoga.

Dr. Chad Lagaly

Dr. Lagaly was born in Ft. Worth, Texas, and grew up in Weatherford, Texas. He played baseball, football and basketball in high school and was also selected for the All State choir. Dr. Lagaly attended Baylor University where he was a member of the Baylor Men’s Choir and had a work study job with Baylor Intramurals. After graduating from Baylor University with a B.S. in Forensic Science, he moved to Katy, Texas, where he taught science and coached various sports at Faith West Academy. He was then accepted to dental school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Dr. Lagaly graduated summa cum laude, in the top 10% of his dental class. He was also accepted to the OKU National Dental Honor Society.

Dr. Lagaly met his wife, Rachel, while at Baylor, where they were physics lab partners. They were married in 2006 in Magnolia, Texas, and welcomed their first child, a son, in August 2009.

Dr. Kendall Moore

A native to Lubbock, Texas, Dr. Moore attended her hometown college Texas Tech University, where she graduated magna cum laude. Following graduation, Dr. Moore attended dental school at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. While in dental school, she was an active member of many organizations, holding officer positions in the American Student Dental Association and her dental class cabinet.

Dr. Moore loves working with children, and is excited about the opportunity to work with the patients of Active Life Dentistry.

On December 31, 2011 she married her college sweetheart. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, rooting for the Red Raiders, traveling, cooking and playing with her two sweet nieces.

Dr. Leslie Norwood

Dr. Norwood grew up in Cypress and is thrilled to be treating patients from her hometown. Dr. Norwood went to Cy-Fair High School and attended Texas A&M University graduating magna cum laude with her bachelor's degree in Biology. After college, Dr. Norwood received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. Dr. Norwood is active in her dental community as a member of various dental organizations including the Greater Houston Dental Society and Southwest Academy of Comprehensive Dentistry.

Outside of her love of dentistry, Dr. Norwood enjoys watching and attending Aggie sports, exploring Houston, reading a good book and spending time with her friends and family. She is excited to be a part of the Active Life Dentistry team and looks forward to getting to know her patients as well as serving their dental needs.

Vicki

Vicki has been with Dr. Blume and Active Life Dentistry since 2006 and is currently the Office Coordinator of the Cypress location. Born in Texas City, she has lived in Houston almost her entire life, except for brief stays in Florida and Memphis, Tennessee when her husband of many years, Steve, was in the Navy. When she isn’t shopping or relaxing with a good book, Vicki loves to spend time with her daughter, son-in-law and grandson Kaden.

Cheryl

Cheryl has lived in Houston for over 30 years and has helped Dr. Blume deliver dental care since 1998. Currently, she is the Patient Care Coordinator for the Cypress location. In her free time, Cheryl and her husband love to ride their Harleys all over the country or find some snow or water for skiing. With three pugs that are “just like my kids,” there is never a dull moment at Cheryl’s house. When she isn’t riding her bike, she loves to spend time with her friends, kids and grandkids.

Debbie

Debbie has been a Treatment Coordinator at Active Life Dentistry since 2009. She is from Bryan, Texas, where she worked in a pediatric dental office for many years before moving to Houston. With an energetic spirit, you will find her doing a variety of activities from reading, swimming, golf and sports, to watching bull riding.

Nancy

A Registered Dental Hygienist, Nancy has been cleaning teeth at Active Life Dentistry since 2010. She has worked at both our Jones Road location and Cypress location. Originally from Houston, Nancy enjoys hiking, traveling and reading. She has been married since 1999 and is the proud owner of a malti-poo.

Rhonda

As a Registered Dental Hygienist, Rhonda has been serving Active Life Dentistry’s patients since 2006. Originally from the Amarillo area, she likes spending her time with family and friends and taking road trips. When she isn’t actively swimming or exercising, she likes to paint and karaoke. She and her husband met in 1995 and have welcomed their first child, born in February of 2012.

Eileen

Eileen, a Houston native, has been working with Active Life Dentistry at our Skinner Road location since 2011 and is currently a Registered Dental Hygenist with 32 years of experience. She loves to spend time with her daughter, Amanda and to travel.

Joy

Joy currently is a Registered Dental Hygienist at our Skinner Road location. She is originally from Chesapeake, Virginia and joined Active Life Dentistry in 2011. When she isn't busy at the office she loves to spend time with her husband of 26 years, Jim and her two children, Dan and Lianna. She also enjoys bike rides, gardening and traveling with her family.

Jackie

With a smile on her face every day, Jackie has been greeting our patients at our Cypress location since 2012. Originally from Thousand Oaks, California, she has lived in Katy most of her life. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Texas in 2008. She is an exceptional photographer and loves to spend time outdoors and exercising.

Veronica

Veronica has been with Active Life Dentistry since 2009. She has been a Registered Dental Assistant and Front Desk Operator for 25 years. Veronica was born and raised in Houston, Texas where she met her high school sweetheart and has been married for over twenty years. She is the proud mother of two Junior High School children and is highly involved in their academic and sports activities. Veronica enjoys being with family, friends, shopping, and traveling with her husband.

Amanda

Amanda has been with Active Life Dentistry since 2012 and is currently a Dental Assistant at our Cypress office. Born and raised in Arkansas, she has lived in Cypress since 2007. She and her husband recently welcomed her first son in 2011. She enjoys traveling to Arkansas and Louisiana to spend time with her family.

Stephanie

Stephanie has been with Active Life Dentistry since 2009 and is currently the Patient Care Coordinator at our Jones Road office. She is an avid gamer and enjoys fishing and walking her dog at the dog park. Stephanie was born in Ganado, Texas, but was raised in Houston. In her free time, she loves to go out with her friends and family.

Gina

Gina has been a Registered Dental Hygienist at our Jones Road location since 2007. She was born and raised in the Spring Branch area of Houston, where she met her high school sweetheart, and now husband, Josh. Gina loves to spend time with her husband and their two boys, Dylan and Logan. She also enjoys decorating cakes and shopping.

Micki

Micki has managed the Front Desk at the Jones Road location since 2010. Originally from Bryan, Texas, she has lived in Houston for most of her life. Micki has been married for over 30 years and has two sons and a dachshund. When she isn’t spending time with her family, Micki loves to shop and read books.

Tara

Another Amarillo native, Tara has been an Active Life Dentistry Registered Dental Hygienist since 2006 and has lived in Houston since 2005. When she isn’t spending time with her husband or friends, Tara enjoys reading, cooking and playing with her dogs Matty and Boudin.

Denise

One of our Office Coordinators, Denise has been helping Active Life Dentistry patients since 2006, and she has worked with Dr. Blume since 1999. A Cypress native, Denise is married and has two boys and, in her free time, enjoys fishing, hunting at their property in Leona, Texas and spending time with her family and friends.

Ashley

Ashley, a Houston native, has been with Active Life Dentistry since 2009 and is currently the Patient Care Coordinator at our Towne Lake office. She loves to cook, read, and spend time with her family, boyfriend and dogs. When she isn’t working, she relaxes by watching movies and going to Houston Texans games.

Cheryl

Following a brief stay in San Antonio, Texas, Cheryl is happy to be back home in Cypress where she spends time with her granddaughter and friends and is active in her church. She has been an Active Life Dentistry Registered Dental Hygienist since 2008. Before moving to Houston, Cheryl lived in Amarillo. When she isn’t working, she enjoys jazzercise and reading.

Taylor

Taylor has been a Registered Dental Hygienist at our Cypress location since 2012. She received her Bachelor of Science for Dental Hygiene from University of Texas and is currently living in the Cypress area. When she is not spending time with her family and friends, she enjoys reading and shopping.
